Purple and Green Monster Wig

Lion Brand® Homespun® - Lion® Bouclé - Microspun

GAUGE:

15 single crochet = 4 in. [10 cm] BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

WIG BASE
With Royal Blue Microspun, chain 4. Join with slip stitch in first chain to form a ring. Chain 3, [double crochet in ring, chain 1] 7 times – 8 double crochet.
Round 1: Chain 4, double crochet in same stitch, chain 2, * [double crochet, chain 2, double crochet, chain 2] in next stitch, repeat from * around, join with slip stitch in chain 2 of beginning chain – 16 double crochet.
Round 2: Chain 4, double crochet in same stitch, chain 2, * [double crochet, chain 2, double crochet, chain 2] in next stitch, [double crochet, chain 2] in next stitch, repeat from * around, join with slip stitch in chain 2 of beginning chain – 24 double crochet.
Round 3: Chain 4, double crochet in same stitch, chain 2, * [double crochet, chain 2] in next stitch, [double crochet, chain 2] in next stitch, [double crochet, chain 2, double crochet, chain 2] in next stitch, repeat from * around, join with slip stitch in chain 2 of beginning chain – 32 double crochet.
Rounds 4-13: Chain 4, work [double crochet, chain 2] in each stitch around, join with slip stitch in chain 2 of beginning chain.
Round 14: Chain 2, single crochet in each stitch around, join with slip stitch in beginning chain.
Round 15: Chain 2, single crochet in next 6 stitches, [pull up a loop in next stitch] twice, yarn over and through 3 loops, repeat from * around, join with slip stitch in chain 2 of beginning chain – 28 single crochet.
Round 16: Chain 2, single crochet in each stitch around, join with slip stitch in beginning chain. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

WIG

Cut Grape Homespun, Espresso Lion Boucle, and Lime Lion Boucle into 1 yd. [1 m] lengths. Hold one strand of each yarn together and fold in half. Starting along lower edge, use crochet hook to draw fold through space in Wig Base, forming a loop. Pull ends of yarn through this loop and pull to tighten. Repeat with remaining yarn to cover Wig Base. Wig can be trimmed as desired.

i used medium wieght yarn and a much bigger hook (7mm) i sc into every space and in to every dc then on the final row every so often ( i wasnt counting) i sc2tg to make it tight. the base fits my head with a bun in my hair and that is what i had wanted...would have been easier if it was written better...but i enjoyed it...took about an hour to do the base and an entire night to get the hair on
