Comfort Shawl
Lion Brand® Chenille Thick & Quick®
GAUGE: 5 (dc, ch 2, dc) + 9 rows = 9 in. [23 cm]. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

SHAWL
First Half
Ch 39, place marker in 3rd ch from hook to mark st placement for second
half.
Row 1 (RS): (Dc, ch 2, dc) in 6th ch from hook, *sk next 2 ch, (dc, ch 2,
dc) in next ch; rep from * across to last 3 chs, sk next 2 chs, dc in last ch
- 24 dc and 11 ch-2 sp.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, (dc, ch 2, dc) in each ch-2 sp across,
dc in top of turning ch - 24 dc and 11 ch-2 sp.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 36 in. [91.5 cm] from beg.
Fasten off.
Second Half
With RS facing and working in free loops of beg ch, join yarn with slip st
in first ch, ch 3, sk next 2 ch, *(dc, ch 2, dc) in next ch, sk next 2 ch; rep
from * across to marked ch, dc in marked ch - 24 dc and 11 ch-2 sp.
Complete Second Half same as First Half. Shawl should measure a total of 72 in.
[183 cm]. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends. |
