With B, cast on 32 sts. Divide sts evenly onto 4 double pointed needles, place marker for beg of
rnd and join, being careful not to twist sts.
Rnds 1-10: With B, knit.
Rnds 11-14: Join A, (k 1 st with A, k 1 st with B) around. At end of Rnd 14, cut B.
Rnd 15: Continuing with A only, knit.
Shape Gusset
Rnd 16: K5, p1, m1, k1, m1, p1, k to end.
Rnds 17-18: K5, p1, k3, p1, k to end.
Rnd 19: K5, p1, m1, k to p st, m1, p1, k to end.
Rep last 3 rnds 3 more times, having 2 more k sts between purls after each rep of Rnd 19 – 42 sts total – 11 k sts between p sts.
Rnd 29: K16, sl last 11 sts to a holder, cast on 1 st, k to end – 32 sts.
Work even until piece measures 9 in. [22.75 cm] from beg.
Next Rnd (Dec Rnd): Change to B, *k 6, k2tog; rep from * around.
Next Rnd: Knit.
Rep last 2 rnds, having 1 less st between k2tog on each Dec Rnd until 12 sts remain. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through remaining
sts, gather together tightly and fasten off.
Thumb
Divide sts from holder onto 3 needles as follows: 5 sts, 5 sts, 1 st. With last needle pick up 5
sts across thumb opening – 16 sts.
Join B and knit 12 rnds.
Next Rnd (Dec Rnd): K2tog around.
Knit 1 rnd, then rep Dec Rnd – 4 sts. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through remaining
sts, gather together tightly and fasten off.
FINISHING
