GAUGE: 10 stitches = 4 in. [10 cm] in pattern stitch. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

SHAWL
Cast on 63 stitches.
Row 1: * Knit 3, purl 3; repeat from *, end knit 3.
Row 2: Knit.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until piece measures 80 in. [205 cm] from beginning. Bind
off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.
FRINGE
Cut remaining yarn into 13 in. [33 cm] lengths. For each Fringe, hold 1
length of yarn and fold in half. Use crochet hook to draw fold through edge of
piece, forming a loop. Pull ends of Fringe through this loop. Pull to tighten.
Trim Fringe evenly. |

| I followed the pattern instructions and yes, if you're interested in a seed stitch sort of pattern - you will NOT see this appear following the written pattern here. As some reviewers have said, you will get a ribbing effect. The fabric has a lovely stretch but it is not what I desired. I ended up ripping out the yarn and will start again using either garter or seed stitch to create a FLAT shawl fabric.
