GAUGE:

15 single crochet = 4 in. [10 cm] When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Cut Amethyst Glitterspun into 1 yd. [1 m] lengths. Hold 3 strands together and fold in half. Starting along lower edge, use crochet hook to draw fold through space in Wig Base, forming a loop. Pull ends of yarn through this loop and pull to tighten. Repeat in next space. Divide yarn ends into 3 groups of 4 strands each and braid. Tie end of braid with Incredible. Trim ends. Repeat with remaining yarn to cover Wig Base, positioning braids as desired.

Purple Braids Wig Reviewed by Debra Fjeld on 2011-09-28 *****
I made something similar to this for a friend of mine that had lost all her hair from chemo. I made it the same color as the hair she lost. She loved it! Instead of all the little braids, I made two big ones down each side. To do this, you have to cut the braids longer. So, she had two braided pigtails! Very cute!
