GAUGE:

11 sts and 5 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

Crochet Cardigan Reviewed by Tracey on 2010-02-28 *****
I finished finally! After looking at the other review for this item, I checked the sizing for the arm (upper arm, at least--the pattern is a straight tube, with no increase in size for the upper arm, which is odd), and said "No way will that fit!" I am a large, and a 12-inch circumference for an upper sleeve is FAR too small! So, I added stitches on the wrong side (2 in each chain-1 sp starting about halfway up the sleeve, then continued even in pattern) to give the arm the width it needed, and the sweater fits great! Only thing is, the pattern is stretchy, and although I crocheted to the the correct length stated in the pattern, it came out much longer on me (almost to my knees on all of the pieces!), but I like it even better that way!
