GAUGE:
16 sts + 17 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in Cable Pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Cable Ready Bag Reviewed by Candice Erickson on 2010-12-26
The bag seems the right size to me. Instead of crocheting all around the handle, we just used a bamboo style. One issue is opening the bag. It's nearly impossible to open! Perhaps a straight handle would be better...? Otherwise very cute! Will also line with a cell phone pocket.
