GAUGE:
16 sts + 17 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in Cable Pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Bring yarn around Handle and draw a second loop through the first loop and through the first st on needle. Slip st off needle. Great pattern! My "personalization":
- I used size 13 needles, but forgot to buy bigger handles, so the scale is a little off, but I think it's still cute.
- The knit part of the pattern was very easy to follow, but putting those handles on took a long time to figure out (that's why I only gave it four stars); maybe Lion could post a video to help with the handles?
- Instead of transferring the stitches to a stitch holder, I just transferred them to another knitting needle, since you don't have to work the stitches again the needle size difference doesn't matter; you're just "crocheting" them onto the handles.
- I selected colors so I could carry this bag in Spring.
Also, I would love to work this in the round, but I'm not a sophisticated enough knitter to know how to translate the pattern. Just wondering why Lion doesn't do patterns in the round? Thanks for another great project . . . what next?
