Next Row: *P2, p2tog; rep from*, end p2 –74 (86, 95, 119, 131) sts.
Next Row: Work in Seed st, AT THE SAME TIME, dec 11 (15, 18, 26, 24) sts evenly across row – 63 (71, 77, 93, 107) sts.
Work in Seed st for 7 rows.
Next Row: Dec 1 st at each end of row – 61 (69, 75, 91, 105) sts.
Continue in Seed st, dec 1 st at each end of every 8th row twice more – 57 (65, 71, 87, 101) sts. Work even until piece measures 11 in. [28 cm] from beg.
Next Row: Inc 1 st at each end of row – 59 (67, 73, 89, 103) sts.
Continue in Seed st, inc 1 st at each end of every 8th row twice more – 63 (71, 77, 93, 107) sts. Work even until piece measures 13 1/2 in. [34.25 cm] from beg.
Shape Sleeves
Inc 1 st each side every other row 3 times – 69 (77, 83, 99, 113) sts. Cast on 12 sts at beg of next 2 rows – 93 (101, 107, 123, 137) sts. Work even until sleeves measure 7 (7 1/2, 8, 8, 9) in. [17.75 (19, 20.25, 20.25, 23) cm] from beg of sleeve shaping.
Shape Shoulders
Bind off 5 (5, 6, 7, 8) sts at beg of next 12 (8, 10, 8, 10) rows, 0 (7, 7, 8, 11) sts at the beg of next 0 (4, 2, 4, 2) rows. Bind off remaining 33 (33, 33, 35, 35) sts for back neck.
FRONT
Work same as for Back until piece measures 13 1/2 in. [34.25 cm] from beg, end with a WS row. Shape V-neck as follows and, AT THE SAME TIME, when piece measures same as Back, work sleeve and shoulder shaping as for Back.
Shape V-Neck
Next Row (RS): Work to 3 sts before center st, work 2 sts tog in pattern, k1, place next st (center st) on holder, place rem sts on second holder for right side.
Row 1 (WS): Sl 1, work to end of row.
Row 2: Work to last st, k1.
Row 3: Repeat Row 2.
Row 4: Work to last 3 sts, work 2 sts tog in pattern, k1.
Repeat last 4 rows 15 (15, 15, 16, 16) times more.
Complete shoulder shaping as for Back.
Attach yarn and work right side as for left, reversing shaping.
FINISHING
Sew shoulder seams. Sew side and sleeve seams.
Neckband
From RS with circular needle, beg at left shoulder seam, pick up and k30 (33, 36, 36, 39) sts along left front neck edge, place marker, slip center st from holder to needle, place marker, pick up and k30 (33, 36, 36, 39) sts along right front neck edge, pick up and k 33 (33, 33, 36, 36) sts across back neck – 94 (100, 106, 109, 115) sts. Place different color marker as beg of rnd marker. Join.
Rnd 1: Purl.
Rnd 2: (K2, p into front and back of next st) to 1 stitch before front marker, p1, slip marker, k1, slip marker, p1, (k2, p into front and back of next st) to end of rnd.
Rnd 3: Work in k2, p2 rib to 1 stitch before marker, insert needle into the next 2 sts as if to k and sl them to the right needle, k1, pass both slipped sts over the k st, work in k2, p2 rib to end of rnd.
Repeat last rnd until neckband measures 2 in. [5 cm] from beg. Bind off in rib. Weave in ends. |
