GAUGE:

10 sc + 10 rows = 4 in. [10 cm]. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

When changing colors, work last stitch of previous row to the point where there are 2 loops on hook, yarn over with new color to complete stitch.

PILLOW
With A, ch 59.
Row 1: With A, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 5 ch, 3 sc in next ch, sc in 6 ch, * sk 2 ch, sc in 6 ch, 3 sc in next ch, sc in 6 ch, rep from * across, change to B in last sc – 60 sc.
Row 2: With B, ch 1, turn, sc in first sc, sk next sc, sc in 5 sc, 3 sc in next sc, * sc in 6 sc, sk 2 sc, sc in 6 sc, 3 sc in next sc, rep from * across to last 7 sc, sc in 5 sc, sk next sc, sc in last sc.
Change to C and work last row 2 times.
Change to D and work 1 row.
Change to E and work 4 rows.
Change to D and work 1 row.
Change to B and work 2 rows.

Rep entire color sequence (1 row of A, 1 row of B, 2 rows of C, 1 row of D, 4 rows of E, 1 row of D, 2 rows of B) 5 more times. Fasten off.

FINISHING
From right side, sew first and last row together. Sew 1 side seam. Insert pillow form. Sew remaining side seam.
