Town & Country Scarf

Lion Brand® Lion® Cashmere Blend - Lion® Wool

GAUGE:

10 dc + 9 rows = 4 in. [10 cm]. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

To change color, work last stitch to the point where there are 2 loops on hook, yarn over with new color to complete stitch.

SCARF
With A, loosely ch 304.
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across – 301 dc.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.

FRINGE
For each fringe, cut 16 in. [40.5 cm] long strands of yarn. Hold 10 strands of yarn together and fold in half. Use crochet hook to draw fold through edge of Scarf, forming a loop. Pull ends of fringe through this loop. Pull to tighten. Make 11 fringes along each short end of Scarf, matching colors to rows. Trim fringe ends evenly.

Town & Country Scarf Reviewed by Sherrie on 2009-01-31 ****
I agree with others that said the pattern does not produce a scarf that looks like the picture. Since I read this before making it, I was mindful of the colors and here are the changes I made. I reduced the beginning chain to 274. The scarf is still very long. I am 5'8" and it still hung below my knees when just put around my neck. The first two rows I worked as written (in charcoal) after that, I worked one dc row in green and then brown, changing colors in the last stitch of the row. The light blue I worked a hdc row, switched back to brown in the last stitch, then worked one dc row in brown and then green again. Then, switching to the charcoal in the last stictch of the green row, I then finished with two dc rows of charcoal. I put corresponding fringe for each color. I think the result turned out looking like the picture, unlike the written pattern. Hope this helps anyone that may need it! This was a great pattern and I love the color combo.
