Sophisticated Stripe Pampered Paws Felted Pet Mat

GAUGE:

Exact gauge is not essential to this project.

NOTES:

GAUGE
12 sc + 14 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] before felting. EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT.

PET MAT
With A, ch 85.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn – 84 sc.
Rows 2-8: Ch 1, sc in each sc across to last st, change to B, turn.
Rows 9-14: Ch 1, sc in each sc across. Work even in sc, changing color in last sc of row in the following color sequence:
Rows 15-18: C.
Rows 19 and 20: D.
Row 21: A.
Repeat Rows 2-21 5 more times. Fasten off.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.

FELTING
Wash by machine on a hot wash/cold rinse cycle with detergent and several pieces of clothing to agitate. To felt additionally, dry by machine on a regular setting until almost dry. Remove from dryer and pull into shape.
