Crochet Motif IV: Circle-in-the-Square

GAUGE:

Motif = 3½ in. [9 cm] square BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

MOTIF IV
Ch 8, sl st in beg ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), work 15 dc in ring, join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 -- 16 dc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in each of next 3 dc, ch 2, (sc in each of next 4 dc, ch 2) around, join with sl st in beg sc -- 4 ch-2 sps.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in each of next 3 sc, 5 sc in next ch-2 sp, (sc in each of next 4 sc, 5 sc in next ch-2 sp) around, join with sl st in beg sc. Fasten off.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.

THIS IS A SIMPLE PATTERN AND ONE THAT CAN BE USED FOR MANY THINGS. the color is dilicious, makes my mouth water, reminds me of grapes so much. love it
