Fringed Shawlette
Lion Brand® Incredible®
GAUGE: 9 stitches = 5 in. [12.5 cm] in garter stitch (knit every row) with 1 strand each of A, B and C held together. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

SCARF
With 1 strand each of A, B, and C held together, cast on 9 stitches. Work in garter stitch (knit every stitch, every
row) until piece measures 27 in. [68.5 cm] from beginning. Bind off. Weave in ends.
Fringe
From each color yarn, cut 38 strands, each 18 in. [45.5 cm]. For each fringe, hold 2 strands of each color together
and fold in half. With crochet hook draw fold through edge of piece, forming a loop. Pull ends of fringe through loop
and tighten. Make 19 fringes along one long edge. Trim fringe ends evenly. If desired, add a few additional fringe
strands to each top corner to be used as ties. |

| Made this in the blue. It looks great and I get lots of compliments on it. Only problem is the fringe at the bottom has a tendency to come undone and I have to add new fringe periodically. Eventually I'll tack it down with a needle and thread. The other thing to watch out for is to cast off very loosely, or you'll get a tightness on the bottom that causes it to roll under. This doesn't look bad, though.
