Lion Brand® Incredible® - Moonlight Mohair

5 stitches + 10 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in pattern stitch (seed stitch). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

With one strand each of A, B, and C held together, cast on 22 sts.
Row 1: *Knit 1, purl 1; repeat from * to end.
Row 2: *Purl 1, knit 1; repeat from * to end.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 until piece measures about 45 in. [114.5 cm]. Measure garment flat, making sure width is correct before measuring length.

Bind off. Weave in ends.

Sew buttons along top edge of Wrap. Buttonholes are not necessary due to the size of stitches.

Buttoned-up Wrap Reviewed by Christine de Visser on 2008-11-21 *****
This was a very quick and easy pattern and the yarns were great to work with. Not having ever used needles larger than size 13, it was a momentary adjustment to knit with the size 50. You need to find another way to hold these big needles, but once you get the hang of it, it was a breeze. The finished product looks nicer in person than pictured on this site and is usable all year long (cool enough for summer evenings and warn enough for winter). I chose to use a large shawl pin instead of buttons and draped it more with a cowl neck instead of tight up against my neck. I have had many compliments on this project.
