GAUGE: 20 sts + 28 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in St st (k on RS, p on WS).
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

| Custom Classic Pullover Reviewed by sophie calladine on 2012-01-22 |

| I've just finished making this sweater for my dad, who is very slim but quite tall, so I followed the pattern for medium. It was a gift for his birthday and he's had to give it back it back to me to alter as the sleeves are way to short and the body is slightly to short as well, but you could get away with that. This will be the second time I had to alter the sleeves as when I first did them and went to sew them to the body, the last section when you decrease to have it round it for the top of the shoulder was wrong, it hadn't decreased enough so the straight row at the end was too long and didn't match the arm holes on the body, so I unravelled and k2tog twice at each side every right side row for the first 2 thirds and dropped down to k2tog once each side every right side for the last third, and this fit perfectly. So, all in all, use this pattern as a guide only, be ready to have to chop and change as you are going along.
