Shape Armhole
Bind off 2 (3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st at each
edge every RS row 2 (3, 3, 4, 4, 6, 6) times − 28 (30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40)
sts. Work even until Back measures 19 (19, 20½, 21, 21½, 23, 23½) in. [48.25
(48.25, 52, 53.25, 54.5, 58.5, 59.75) cm] for short version or 24 (24, 25½, 26,
26½, 28, 28½) in. [61 (61, 64.75, 66, 67.25, 71, 72.5) cm] for long version.
Shape Shoulder
Bind off 3 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6) sts at beg of next 2 rows, then bind off 4 (4,
4, 5, 5, 6, 7) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Place remaining 14 sts on holder for
Back Neck.
FRONT
Work as for Back until Front measures 17 (17, 18½, 19, 19½, 21, 21½) in.
[43.25 (43.25, 47, 48.25, 49.5, 53.5, 54.5) cm] for short version or 22 (22,
23½, 24, 24½, 26, 26½) in. [56 (56, 59.75, 61, 62.25, 66, 67.25) cm] for long
version.
Shape Neck
Work across 10 (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16) sts and slip to a holder, bind off
center 8 sts, work across remaining 10 (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16) sts. Working on
10 (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16) sts, dec 1 st at Neck edge every row 3 times. Work
even same length as Back to Shoulder.
Shape Shoulder
Bind off 3 (4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6) sts at Shoulder edge, work 1 row even. Bind
off remaining 4 (4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 7) sts. Slip sts from holder back to needle, and
rep neck and shoulder shaping on other side.
FINISHING
Collar
From RS with larger double pointed needles, k14 sts from Back Neck holder,
pick up and k7 sts along Left Front Neck, 8 sts across Center Front Neck and 7
sts along Right Front Neck − 36 sts. Join, place marker for beginning of
rnd. Work in St st (k every rnd) until Collar measures 10 in. [25.5 cm] from
beg. Change to smaller double pointed needles and work even for 3 in. [7.5 cm]
more. Bind off.
Armhole Edging
With RS facing and larger double pointed needles, pick up and k 30 (30, 32,
34, 36, 38, 40) sts around Armhole. Bind off. Weave in ends.
