The hedgehog is Europe's answer to the porcupine. When threatened, it rolls itself into a ball so that its quills point outward.

William the Hedgehog

Lion Brand® Fun Fur® - Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick®

GAUGE:

10 sts + 12 rows = 4" [10 cm] in St st (k on right side, p on wrong side) with 2 strands of A, 1 strand of B, and 1 strand of C held tog. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

William the Hedgehog Reviewed by jeanne einhorn on 2013-11-23 *****
Loved this little creature. I had to struggle a bit with the four strands together, but got it done in a few hours. So sweet. I added little felt ears.
