Rnd 1: Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), [dc in ring, ch 1] 7 times, join with sl st in 3rd ch of
beg ch – 8 dc. Fasten off A.
Rnd 2: Join B in sl st, ch 1, sc in same st, * ch 2, dc2tog in ch-1 sp, ch 2, sc in next dc,
rep from * 7 times, omitting final sc, join with sl st in beg sc. Fasten off B.
Rnd 3: Join C in sl st, ch 5 (counts as dc, ch 2), sc in top of dc2tog, ch 2, dc in next sc, [ch
2, sc in top of dc2tog, ch 2, dc in next sc] 6 times, ch 2, sc in top of dc2tog, ch 2, join with sl
st in 3rd ch of beg ch. Fasten off C.
Rnd 4: Join D with sl st in any sc, ch 1, sc in same st, * ch 4, sk 2 ch, sc in next st, rep
from * 15 times, ch 4, join with sl st in beg sc – 16 ch-4 lps. Fasten off.
Motif 2
Work Rnds 1-3 as for Motif 1 in the following color sequence:
Rnd 1: B.
Rnd 2: C.
Rnd 3: E.
Rnd 4 (Joining Rnd): With D, work as for Rnd 4 of Motif 1 until there are 14 lps, end sc in
next st, attach lps 15 and 16 to Motif 1 as follows: ch 2, sl st in ch-4 lp of Motif 1, ch 2, sc in
next st of Motif 2, ch 2, sl st in next ch-4 lp of Motif 1, ch 2, join with sl st in beg sc. Fasten
off.
Motifs 3-8
Continue to join Motifs in this manner, leaving 6 lps free before and after attaching, working
every Rnd 4 using D, and working Rnds 1-3 in the following color sequences:

Motif 4: E, B, C.
Motif 5: A, C, E.

Rnd 4 (Joining Rnd): With D, work 8 lps, attach next 6 lps to Motifs 1 and 2 as follows: join lp
9 to 3rd lp to right of previous joining on Motif 2, lp 10 to 2nd lp to right of joining on Motif 2,
lp 11 to first lp to right of joining on Motif 2, lp 12 to first lp to left of joining on Motif 1,
lp 13 to 2nd lp to left on Motif 1, lp 14 to 3rd lp to left on Motif 1, work remaining 2 lps.
Fasten off.

Work Rnds 1-3 using colors A, E, and C.
Rnd 4 (Joining Rnd): Work 8 lps, join Motif 10 to Motifs 2 and 3 as above, join remaining 2
