The nylon net is used as a foundation for the fringe. Cut a piece of netting to desired length. Fold in half lengthwise matching bottom row of squares at fold.
Cut yarn for fringe into lengths indicated. Use crochet hook to pull yarn through net to create each fringe. Working from left to right, leaving about 3 empty spaces, insert crochet hook from behind next space in the net. Fold a length of yarn cut for fringe in half. Use hook to pull folded end of yarn through the net to form a loop. Pull ends of yarn through this loop; pull firmly so that loop sits against edge of net. Repeat until net is completely fringed. Trim fringe ends evenly. Cut off
excess net above fringe so about 3/8” [1 cm] of net remains above fringe.
Glue completed lengths of fringe to the denim garments as instructed.
DENIM JEANS
Measure outside seam of each leg from hem edge to just below pocket opening. Cut a piece of net to each of these lengths, adding 2” [5 cm].
Wrap B around a 2” [5 cm] strip of cardboard. Slip scissors under yarn and cut open loops at one end of cardboard. Follow general instructions for fringe.
With 1 strand each of A and B held together, chain 2 lengths each the same length as each strip of fringe for legs.
Lay jeans flat so that outside seam on left leg is facing up. Apply glue to seam and lay net into glue so that fringed edge is facing right. Carefully trim away any excess fringe. Glue chain just above top edge of fringe. Repeat for right leg so that fringed edge is facing left.
