Trellis - Microspun - Moonlight Mohair
GAUGE: 12 sts = 4" [10 cm] in pattern st BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: M1 (make 1 st) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal thread lying
between the needles and placing it onto the left needle. Knit this new stitch
through the back loop.
sk2p Slip 1 st as if to knit, k2tog, pass slipped st over.
PATTERN STITCHES
Small Chevron Stitch (multiple of 8 sts + 1)
Row 1 (RS) K 1, M1, (k 2, sk2p, k 2, M1, k 1, M1) to last 8 sts, k 2, sk2p,
k 2, M1, k 1.
Row 2 Purl.
Rep Rows 1-2 for Small Chevron st.
Large Chevron Stitch (multiple of 12 sts + 1)
Row 1 (RS) K 1, M1, (k 4, sk2p, k 4, M1, k 1, M1) to last 12 sts, k 4, sk2p,
k 4, M1, k 1.
Row 2 Purl.
Rep Rows 1-2 for Large Chevron st.
Border Chevron Stitch (multiple of 12 sts)
Rnd 1 (RS) (K 4, sk2p, *k 4, M1, k 1, M1) around.
Rnd 2 Knit.
Rep Rnds 1-2 for Border Chevron st.
STRIPE SEQUENCE
*2 rows C, 8 rows B, 2 rows C, 4 rows B, 2 rows C, 4 rows B, 4 rows A, 2
rows D, 2 rows A, 2 rows C, 4 rows A; rep from *. |
NOTES: All yarns are used double throughout. Shrug is knit sideways from cuff to cuff.

SHRUG
With 2 strands of C held tog, cast on 33 sts.
Following Stripe Sequence, work in Small Chevron st for 3" [7.5 cm].
Inc Row K 1, M1, [(k 1, M1) twice, sk2p, (M1, k 1) 3 times, M1] 3 times,
(k 1, M1) twice, sk2p, (M1, k 1) 3 times – 49 sts.
Size L/1X For Stripe Sequence between Inc and Dec Rows only, work 4 rows C
(instead of 2 rows).
Continuing in Stripe Sequence, work in Large Chevron st until piece measures 25
(27)" [63.5 (68.5) cm] from beg; end with a WS row. Then reverse Stripe
Sequence until piece measures 47 (51)" [119.5 (129.5) cm] from beg; end
with a WS row.
Dec Row (RS) K 1, M1, [(k2tog) twice, sk2p, (k2tog) twice, M1, k 1, M1] 3
times, (k2tog) twice, sk2p, (k2tog) twice, M1, k 1 – 33 sts.
Next Row Purl.
Continuing in reverse Stripe Sequence as established, work in Small Chevron st
for 3" [7.5 cm]. Bind off.
FINISHING
Starting at each cuff, sew a 12" [30.5 cm] sleeve seam. With RS facing
and 2 strands of C held tog, beg at underarm seam, pick up and knit 72 (78) sts
across bottom edge and 72 (78) sts across top edge – 144 (156) sts. Place
marker and join. Work Border Chevron st (Size L/1X Begin and end at * in Rnd 1)
in the following Stripe Sequence: 2 rows C, 4 rows B, 2 rows C, 8 rows B, 2 rows
C.
Bind off.
