GAUGE:
16 sts + 20 rows = 4 in. [10cm] in Stockinette st (k on RS, p on WS) pre-felting BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES:
Results may vary based on water temperature, length of the cycle, and agitation provided in the washing machine. Cast on more sts for a wider cozy and knit fewer rows for a shorter one.
CASE Cast on 30 sts. Work even in St st for 7 1/2 in. [19 cm], end with a RS row.
Flap
Row 1
Bind off 17 sts, purl to end of row – 13 sts. Row 2 Bind off 2 sts, knit to end of row – 11 sts.
