Ribbed Cable Purse

Lion Brand« Wool-Ease®

GAUGE:

18 sts + 21 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Seed st. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

STITCH EXPLANATION:

4/4 RC (4 over 4 right cross) Slip 4 sts to cable needle and hold in back, k4, then k4 from cable needle.
M1 (make 1) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal thread lying between needles and placing it onto left needle. Knit this new stitch through the back loop - 1 st increased.
sp2p (slip-p2tog-pass slipped st over)
A double decrease worked as follows:
1. Insert right needle as if to knit, and slip the next st from the left needle to the right needle.
2. Purl the next 2 sts together.
3. With tip of left needle, lift the slipped st (the 2nd st on right needle) up and over the p2tog (first st on right needle) and off the needle - 2 sts decreased.
s2p2p (slip 2-p2tog-pass 2 slipped sts over) A triple decrease worked as follows:
1. Insert right needle as if to k2tog into next 2 sts, and slip the 2 sts together from the left needle to the right needle.
2. Purl the next 2 sts together.
3. With tip of left needle, lift the 2 slipped sts (the 2nd and 3rd sts on right needle) up and over the p2tog (first st on right needle) and off the needle - 3 sts decreased.

Ribbed Cable Purse Reviewed by adriana lucero on 2011-12-21 ***
Well I made this purse and its really cute for the end product I give it a 5 star rating for the instructions I give it 2 stars before starting any new project I always read the reviews for any tip the reviewers might of left to make it easier on me, and I'm glad I did. pretty much if you will like to tackle this project first rewrite the instructions so they are easier to read, and specially when following the charts because you will get lost guaranteed! besides that this project was very easy and fun to make.
