then separated for front and back.
With 1 strand each of B and C held tog, cast on 143 (153) sts. Work in Garter
st (k every row) until piece measures 5" [12.5 cm] from beg. Change to one
strand of A.
Next Row (RS) With A, k2tog, k 13 (14), place marker, p 1, [k 13 (14), place
marker, p 1] 8 times, k 13 (14), k2tog – 141 (151) sts.
Next Row Purl.
Next Row K 14 (15), sl marker, p 1, [k 13 (14), sl marker, p 1] 8 times,
k 14 (15).
Next Row Purl.
Rep last 2 rows until piece measures 8 (9)" [20.5 (24) cm] from beg.
Dec Row (RS) [Knit to 2 sts before marker, k2tog, sl marker, p 1] 9
times, k2tog, knit to end of row – 131 (141) sts. Work even in St st for
3" [7.5 cm]; end with a WS row. Rep Dec Row – 121 (131) sts. Continue as
established, working even for 3" [7.5 cm], then rep Dec Row, until 5 dec
rows have been completed in all – 91 (101) sts. Work even in St st until piece
measures 28 (30)" [71 (76) cm] from beg; end with a WS row.
Divide for Front and Back
K 20 (23) and place these sts on a holder for Right Front, bind off 4 sts
for underarm, knit until there are 43 (47) sts on right needle and place these
sts on a holder for Back, bind off 4 sts for underarm, knit to end of row for
Left Front.
LEFT FRONT
Working on 20 (23) sts for Left Front only, continue in St st, working k2tog
at armhole edge every other row 4 times – 16 (19) sts. Work even until armhole
measures 8½ (9½)" [21.5 (24) cm]; end with a WS row.
Shape Shoulder
Bind off 9 (10) sts at beg of next RS row. Place remaining 7 (9) sts on a
holder.
RIGHT FRONT
Sl Right Front sts from holder to needle. Beg with a WS row, work as for
Left Front, reversing shaping.
BACK
Sl 43 (47) Back sts from holder to needle. Continue in St st, beg with a WS row,
working k2tog each end every other row 4 times – 35 (39) sts. Work even until
armholes measure 8½ (9½)" [21.5 (24) cm]; end with a WS row.
Shape Shoulders
Bind off 9 (10) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Place remaining 17 (19) sts on a
holder.
 SLEEVES
With A, cast on 21 (25) sts. Work in Garter st until piece measures 3"
[7.5 cm]. Purl 2 rows. Continue in St st, increasing 1 st each end every 6th row
7 (8) times – 35 (41) sts. Work even until piece measures 17 (18)"[43
(45.5) cm] from beg; end with a WS row.
Shape Sleeve Cap
Bind off 2 (3) sts at beg of next 2 rows – 31 (35) sts. K2tog each end
every other row 10 (11) times – 11 (13) sts. Bind off.
FINISHING
Sew shoulder seams. Sew side and Sleeve seams. Sew in Sleeves.
COLLAR
With RS facing and 1 strand each of B and C held tog, k 7 (9) from Right
Front holder, k 17 (19) from Back holder, k 7 (9) from Left Front holder – 31
(37) sts. Work in Garter st for 4" [10 cm]. Bind off loosely.
BELT
With A, cast on 6 sts. Work in Garter st until piece measures 150
(160)" [381 (406.5) cm] from beg. Bind off. |
