GAUGE:

12 sc + 12 rows = 4" [10 cm] with A When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Evening Tote Reviewed by rosalie norville on 2009-01-15 *****
I made this the first time following the directions given. It came out very well and I was pleased. The directions were easy enough to follow. The second time I made it larger and did not use the fur. I did lined the bag and gave it a sturdy bottom using plastic that I covered in fabric . I used the same fabric that I lined the bag with. I also added a zipper to the top. It is adorable and I will make it again after receiving several compliments on it while out and about.Rose N.
