Row 1 (WS) Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn 48 sc.
Rows 2-7 Ch 1, sc in each st across; turn.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
CAPE
Row 1 (RS) With RS facing, skip first 4 sc in Row 7 of Collar, join desired color of Moonlight
Mohair in next sc, ch 3, dc in each of next 39 sc; turn, leaving remaining sts unworked 40 sts.
Row 2 Ch 3, dc in each of next 3 dc, *ch 1, dc in each of next 5 dc, ch 1, dc in each of next
4 dc; repeat from * across; turn 40 dc; 8 ch1-spaces.
Row 3 Ch 3, *dc in each dc across to next ch1-space, 2-dc Shell in next ch1-space; repeat
from * 7 more times, dc in each dc across; turn 56 dc.
Row 4 Ch 3, *dc in each dc across to first dc of next Shell, dc in first dc of Shell, ch 1;
repeat from * 7 more times, dc in each dc across; turn 56 dc; 8 ch1-spaces.
Repeat Rows 3-4 until you have a total of 152 dc.
Fasten off.
LEFT FRONT TRIM
Row 1 With WS facing, join A in first skipped sc in Row 7 on left side of Collar (on Cape side
of 4 skipped sts), ch 1, sc in each sc across; turn 4 sc.
Row 2 Ch 1, sc in each sc across; turn.
Repeat Row 2 until Trim measures 15" [38 cm] from bottom edge of Collar. Fasten off.
RIGHT FRONT TRIM
Row 1 With RS facing, join A in first skipped sc in Row 7 on right side of Collar (on Cape side
of 4 skipped sts), ch 1, sc in each sc across; turn 4 sc.
Work as for Left Front Trim.
FINISHING
With large-eyed, blunt needle and A, sew Front Trims to adjacent edges of Cape using a blind st
so that seam looks good on both sides of Cape.
TIE Make 2
With 2 strands of A held together, ch 30. Fasten off, leaving a tail. Tie tail to end of Row 6
of Collar. Weave in tail on other end of Tie. Make an overhand knot at end of Tie. Attach 2nd Tie to
other side of Row 6 and complete as for first Tie. Weave in ends.
FRINGE
From RS, attach B at left front corner of Cape. *Ch 30, sc in next st, repeat from * across,
changing randomly to C, D, and E. Fasten off. |
