Knit Bobbled Tree Wrap

Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick®

GAUGE:

9 sts + 13 rows = 4” [10 cm] in Stockinette st (k on RS, p on WS).

BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

RT (right twist) K2tog and leave on left needle; with right needle, go between the 2 sts and k the first st again. Drop both sts from left needle.
2/2RC (2 over 2 right cross) Slip 2 sts to cable needle and hold in back, k 2, k 2 from cable needle.
2/3RC (2 over 3 right cross) Slip 3 sts to cable needle and hold in back, k 2, k 3 from cable needle.
3/2RC (3 over 2 right cross) Slip 2 sts to cable needle and hold in back, k 3, k 2 from cable needle.
3/3RC (3 over 3 right cross) Slip 3 sts to cable needle and hold in back, k 3, k 3 from cable needle.
MB (make bobble) (K 1, p 1, k 1, p 1, k 1) in same st, pass 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th sts on right needle over first.

NOTES:

Shawl is made of 5 panels, crocheted together. Begin each panel with new skein; remaining yarn is used for finishing. Begin at lower left (Panel 1).

FINISHING

With cast off edges at top, crochet panels tog, picking up the outside strand from each row. Join fullest remaining ball to left bottom corner of piece. Work 1 round sc around entire edge. Turn, *chain 2, skip 1 st, sc into next st; repeat from * across bottom edge, forming loops to hold fringe. Work 1 more row sc across top edge.

Fringe Cut strands of yarn 10" [25.5 cm] long. Using 4 strands per fringe, fold in half to form a loop. Insert crochet hook into one of the crocheted spaces along bottom edge of Shawl and draw loop through. Draw ends of fringe through loop and tighten. Work evenly across bottom edge of Shawl.

This is a beautiful pattern and I found it very simple to knit. I am going to adapt the different panels to make a baby blanket for one of my neices who is expecting her first child. thank you once again Lion Brand for a fantastic free pattern.
