Lion Brand® Lion® Suede

This chic little project couldn’t be simpler to stitch. It’s made from two striped rectangles; the plaid design is done after the knitting is finished with a crochet hook. Sew the two pieces together and voila — instant cool.

GAUGE:

13 sts + 24 rows = 4” [10 cm] in St st (k on RS, p on WS) on smaller needles.

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Plaid Poncho Reviewed by Joan Frazier on 2012-08-20 *****
I made this poncho and it turned out beautifully. It was easy, the directions clear and have had many compliments on it. The Suede yarn is very comfortable to wear. However, I can see why Lion Brand discontinued this yarn as the ends that need weaving in constantly slip out.
