PONCHO HALF – Make 2
With larger needles and A, loosely cast on 50 sts. Change to smaller needles and work 3 rows in Garter Stitch (k every row). Change to Stripe Pattern and work as follows: Row 1 (RS) K 8, p 1, k 2, p 1, k 18, p 1, k 5, p 1, k 1, p 1, k 11. Row 2 K 3, p 8, k 1, p 1, k 1, p 5, k 1, p 18, k 1, p 2, k 1, p 5, k 3.
Continue Stripe Pattern, repeating Rows 1-2 until color C is reached. Work all C rows as follows: Row 1 Knit. Row 2 K 3, p to last 3 sts, k 3. Continue in pattern until Stripe Pattern is complete. With B, work 3 rows in Garter Stitch. Bind off loosely with larger needles.
FINISHING
Work vertical lines of crocheted chain stitch over the purl stitches. Keeping yarn behind Poncho, work 1 st for each 2 rows. Work 2 outer lines in D, and 3 central lines in C. Assemble and seam as shown in diagram, matching points A and B. Weave in ends. |
