RECTANGLE – Make 2
With larger needles, cast on 24 sts. Row 1 (RS) Knit. Row 2 K 8, p 8, k 8. Rows 3-6 Repeat Rows 1-2.
Row 7 K 8, slip next 4 sts onto cable needle and hold in back, k 4, then k 4 from cable needle, k 8. Row 8 Repeat Row 2. Rows 9-14 Repeat Rows 1-2.
Repeat Rows 1-14 for 4 more times, then work Rows 1-13 once more. Bind off.
FINISHING
Assemble and seam as shown in diagram, matching points A and B.
NECK EDGING
With RS facing and circular needle, pick up and knit 39 sts evenly spaced around neck opening. Place marker and join for working in the round. Rnd 1 Purl. Rnd 2 K 1, *yo, k2tog; repeat from * around.
Rnd 3 Purl. Bind off. Weave in ends.
FRINGE
Cut strands of yarn approximately 10” [25.5 cm] long. For each fringe, fold 1 strand in half. Use crochet hook to draw fold through edge of garment, forming a loop. Pull ends of fringe through this loop and pull to tighten. Attach fringe all around lower edge, in every other st or Garter st ridge. Trim fringe if necessary.
NECK TIE
Cut 3 strands of yarn approximately 60” [152.5 cm] long. Make a braid and thread it through the eyelets. |
