Rnds 2-13 Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join with slip st to beg sc.
Slip st in next sc, turn.
Shape Sides
Row 1 (WS) Slip st in next sc, sc in each of next 22 sc, slip st in next sc, turn.
Row 2 Sc in each of next 20 sc, slip st in next sc, turn.
Row 3 Sc in each of next 18 sc, slip st in next sc, turn.
Row 4 Slip st in next sc, sc in each of next 15 sc, slip st in next sc, turn.
Row 5 Slip st in next sc, sc in each of next 12 sc, slip st in next sc. Fasten off.
With WS facing, working on remaining sts of Rnd 13, skip 1 sc, join yarn in next sc.
Repeat Rows 1-5 of Side shaping.
TOP
Ch 22. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across – 21 sc. Turn.
Row 1 (WS) Skip first sc, slip st in next sc, sc in each of next 17 sc, slip st in next sc,
turn.
Row 2 Skip first sc, slip st in next sc, sc in each of next 13 sc, skip next sc, slip st in next sc. Fasten off.
With WS facing, working on opposite side of foundation ch, join yarn in 2nd ch, sc in
each of next 17 ch, slip st in next ch, turn. Repeat Row 2 of Top.
FINISHING
With RS facing on both pieces, match Rows 3 of Sides with Rows 2 of Top. Using whipstitch, sew invisibly together.
Wear Hat with brim folded up and Top pushed down into an inverted pleat. |
