GAUGE: 14.25 sts + 20 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Rev St st (p on RS, k on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: | ssk (slip, slip, knit) Slip next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to right needle; insert left needle into fronts of these 2 sts and k them tog. |

| Knitted Simple Shell Reviewed by Geri Tauber on 2008-05-12 |

I am a beginner, and this is my second tank top. I found the pattern to be somewhat difficult when it came to the shoulders and neck. I didn't know how to do both sleeves "at the same time" and ended up with some stiches that I didn't know what to do with.
It ended up OK, but somehow, with a much smaller neck.
The armholes, however, look fabulous.
