GAUGE: Please see the gauge in the downloadable pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

| Knitted Ultimate Vest Reviewed by Diane Gensemer on 2010-04-14 |

| I enjoyed making the vest and get lots of compliments when I wear it. I have, however, made a few revisions to the pattern as follows. If you don't like the vest to "curl" at the bottom, I would recommend knitting four rows in K1P1 ribbing at the beginning for a much better fit. Also, I put the shoulder seams on stitch holders, and bound off only the middle back part, then joined the shoulder to the front with a 3-needle bind-off, which is a much nicer finishing for the top and not as bulky as sewing it in.
