Knitted Ultimate Vest

Lion Brand® Lion® Bouclé

GAUGE:

10 sts = 4” (10 cm) in Sttockinette stitch (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Knitted Ultimate Vest Reviewed by Diane Gensemer on 2010-04-14 *****
I enjoyed making the vest and get lots of compliments when I wear it. I have, however, made a few revisions to the pattern as follows. If you don't like the vest to "curl" at the bottom, I would recommend knitting four rows in K1P1 ribbing at the beginning for a much better fit. Also, I put the shoulder seams on stitch holders, and bound off only the middle back part, then joined the shoulder to the front with a 3-needle bind-off, which is a much nicer finishing for the top and not as bulky as sewing it in.
