Knit Fairy Tale Poncho

Lion Brand« Wool-Ease« Thick & Quick«

GAUGE:

8 sts + 14 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Seed st. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Leaving other 20 (24, 30) sts on needle (on hold), continue working on these first 20 (24, 30) sts until piece measures same as Back, ending with a WS row. Pull tightly and knot securely near strands. Cut yarn loops at lower edge of cardboard and remove. Holding tied end at top, tie second piece around all 40 strands 1 1/2" from tied end, and knot securely. Weave ends of tie into center and trim Tassel ends evenly. Attach Tassel to point of Hood.

Button Fastener: With CC and crochet hook, make a 16" chain. Joining to form a loop, work 1 round in slip stitch. Fasten off. Fold loop and tie ends in an overhand knot. Position fastener across neck opening and sew a button on each side of opening to match fastener. Sew remaining pairs of buttons 2" in from edge and 5" down from seam on each side.

Knit Fairy Tale Poncho Reviewed by Pamela Adams on 2012-05-05 *****
I have made 2 of these ponchos in the sizes listed on the pattern for my 2 nieces. They love these so much! Now they are both 8 years old and want the same poncho in a new size! Hope I can find someone to help me make this pattern fit so my nieces can have another set to keep them warm.
