GAUGE: 17 sts and 24 rows=4 in
Tension: 4 BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Sample made on Singer 155. This pattern can be made on any bulky or mid-gauge machine that achieves the gauge provided, including Singer, Brother, LK-150, etc.

Back
With Color A, e-wrap CO 54 (58,64,68) sts. RC 0
Hint: If you leave a tail with your cast on yarn about double the length of the garment to the armhole, you can use the tail to sew up the side seam.
Knit 44 (48,50,56) rows, mark end sts for armhole.
K to row 75 (84, 87, 93).
Shape Neck
Leave 16 (17,20,21) sts next to carriage in work, put remaining sts into hold. Knit 3 (3,3,6) rows. RC 78 (87,90,99)
BO.
Option: Instead of binding stitches off at shoulder, remove shoulder stitches on waste yarn.
When ready to add collar, choose a version:
Version 1: Seam shoulder by rehanging shoulder stitches on machine, right sides together, and bind off both sets of stitches at the same time; OR
Version 2: Graft the shoulder stitches together with a needle and yarn using Kitchener stitch.
Remove center 22 (24,24,26) sts on waste yarn.
Join yarn at neck edge.
Reset RC to 75 (84, 87, 93)
Knit 3(3,3,6 ) rows on remaining 16 (17, 20, 21) sts.
RC 78 (87,90,99)
BO.
Front
With Color B, e-wrap CO 54 (58,64,68) sts. RC 0
Knit 44 (48,50,56) rows, mark end sts for armhole.
Knit to row 67 (73,83,87)
Shape Neck
Leave 19 (20,24, 25) sts next to carriage in work, put remaining sts into hold. Knit 1 row.
Working these sts, dec 1 st neck edge every row 3 (3,4,4) times. 16 (17,20,21) sts, RC 71.
Knit to row 78 (87,90,99).
BO.
Take center 16 (18,16,18) st off on waste yarn.
Reset RC to 67 (73,83,87).
Join yarn to last 19 (20,24,25) st on armhole side.
Knit 1 row.
Dec dec 1 st neck edge every row 3 (3,4,4) times. 16 (17,20,21) sts, RC 71.
Knit to row 78 (87,90,99).
BO.
Collar
Sew right shoulder seam.
T 4.2
With Color D, hang neck on machine, wrong side facing,
10 (10,11,11) st from left side of front neck, 16 (18,16,18) sts from center front neck, 10 (10,11,11) sts from right font neck; 3 (3,4,4) sts from right back neck, 22 (24,24,26) sts from center back neck, 3 (3,4,4) sts from left back neck. Total 64 (68,70,74) sts.
Knit 6 rows.
BO.
Sew left shoulder seam and collar seam.
Sleeves
Wrong side facing, pick up sts evenly around armhole: shoulder seam at 0, armhole markers at needles 23/23 (27/27, 28/28, 30/30) each side of 0. 46 total stitches (54, 56, 60). RC 0.
Stripe Pattern:
6 rows D, 6 rows C
Follow stripe pattern, dec 1 st each side every 6 rows 4 (5,5,6) times, then every 3 rows 5 (7,8,8) times.
28 (30,30,32) sts.
Work even to row 48 (57,63,69).
BO.
Repeat for other sleeve.
Finishing
Sew side and sleeve seams. Weave in ends. |

nice pattern. there are many machine knitters, and i guess we would love more patterns for all gauges as we often have more than one machine.
