Suitable Jacket

Lion Brand® Lion® Bouclé - Fun Fur®

GAUGE:

10.5 sts and 15.5 rows = 4" (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS) with MC. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

NOTES:

You may want to add a selvage stitch at each side of each garment piece. These stitches are not included in the stitch count. It is easier to cast off and seam with a smooth coordinating yarn.

BACK

With MC, cast on 48 (52, 58, 62, 68) sts. Work 6 rows in Garter st (k every row). Change to St st and work even until piece measures 15" from beg. Bind off 6 sts at the beg of the next 2 rows. Continue even in St st until armhole measures 9 (9, 10, 10, 11)". Bind off loosely.

FRONT

With MC, cast on 21 (23, 26, 28, 31) sts. Work 6 rows in Garter st. Change to St st and work even until piece measures 15" from beg. Bind off 6 sts at armhole edge. Continue even in St st until piece measures 21 (21, 22, 22, 23)" from beg. At neck edge, bind off 2 (2, 3, 4, 4) sts, then decrease 1 st every other row 4 times – 9 (11, 13, 14, 17) sts. Continue even in St st until piece measures 24 (24, 25, 25, 26)" from beg. Bind off loosely. Make another Front, reversing all shaping.

SLEEVES

With CC, cast on 22 (22, 24, 24, 24) sts and knit 2 rows. Change to MC and work 8 rows in Garter st. Change to CC and knit 2 rows. Change to MC and St st. Increase 1 st each end every 3rd row 0 (0, 0, 0, 4) times, then every 4th row 12 (12, 14, 14, 12) times – 46 (46, 52, 52, 56) sts. Work even until piece measures 18" from beg. Bind off loosely.

Great pattern and great yarn choice! It was very easy to knit and looked just like the photo when I was done -- very cute.
