Retro Chenille Throw
Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick® - Chenille Thick & Quick®
GAUGE: 9 stitches + 16 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Pattern on smaller needle. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: Chenille Ridge Pattern
Row 1 (Right Side) With A, knit.
Row 2 With A, purl.
Rows 3 and 4 With B, knit.
Repeat Rows 1-4 for Pattern.
I-Cord With dpns cast on number stitches specified. * Knit. Do not turn work. Slide stitches to right end of needle. Pull yarn to tighten. Repeat from * for specified length; bind off. |

THROW
With B and circular needle, loosely cast on 108 sts. Beg with Row 1, work Chenille Ridge Pattern for 60", ending with Row 3 of Pattern. Bind off loosely with B. |
 ROSES
With two double-pointed needles and C, make four 3-stitch I-cords 24" long.
BOWS
With D, make four 2-stitch I-cords 18" long.
LEAVES
With E, make twelve 2-stitch I-cords 4" long.
FINISHING
Sew roses to throw approximately 10" from each corner (see diagram). Sew bows below each rose, and 3 leaves around each rose. |
