First-Cable Afghan
Lion Brand® Homespun®
GAUGE: 8 sts + 12 rows = 4" (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS) with yarn doubled. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES: Yarn is used doubled throughout. This afghan is knit in 3 panels.
Editor’s Note: When creating fringe using Homespun please note that because of the texture of the yarn the fringe will fray when cut. If you prefer a non-frayed look you can knot the ends,
knit or
crochet a fringe, or use hairspray or fray check.

| I made this as a christmas gift for a family member. It was so easy and quick to make and the finished project is very elegant. The cables look beautiful in Homespun 'prairie'. I skipped the fringe and did a simple crochet edging around the blanket.
