BASIC SQUARE (Make 35)
With MC ch 16.
Row 1 Sc into 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across – 15 sc.
Row 2 Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across.
Rep Row 2 for a total of 18 rows. Fasten off.
LONG FRAME SECTION (Make 16 in A; 18 in B)
With A or B, ch 36.
Row 1 Work as above – 35 sc.
Rep Row 2 for a total of 6 rows.
Fasten off.
SHORT FRAME SECTION (Make 8 in A; 6 in B)
With A or B, ch 21.
Row 1 Work as above – 20 sc.
Rep Row 2 for a total of 6 rows.
Fasten off.
FINISHING
Sew pieces tog invisibly following assembly diagram. For Frame Sections, position horizontal pieces
with beg ch at lower edge and vertical pieces with beg ch at right edge.
BORDER
Rnds 1-5 Join MC with slip st in any corner. Work 100 sc evenly spaced across the top and
bottom; 130 along side edges; 3 sc in each corner. Sc 1 more rnd in MC; 1 rnd in A; 2 rnds MC.
Rnd 6 In corner sc, ch 3 – counts as 1 dc, dc in same space, (ch 4, slip st in 4th ch
from hook) – picot made, 2 dc in same space, *skip 3 sc, (2 dc, picot, 2 dc) in next sc; rep from
* across, easing spacing so that you finish at next corner; continue around in this manner.
