Image of Granny Square Kids Poncho

Your favorite little girl will wear this poncho everywhere- it's perfect with jeans or over a party dress. The black background lends a grown-up sophistication and the beret is "tres jolie". Made with crocheted granny squares, it is a fun and easy project.

Lion Brand Crochet Hook - Size G-6 (4 mm)   $ 2.45

Granny Square Kids Poncho

Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Sportweight

GAUGE:

Each square measures 21⁄2" x 21⁄2" (6.35 mm x 6.35 mm); 20 sc = 4" (10 cm) on larger hook.

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Granny Square Kids Poncho Reviewed by Barbara Jones on 2012-09-12 ****
I made this pattern for my granddaughter and I love it, but there is no clear instructions for where to leave the neck opening when attaching the 1/2 squares. I figured it out!
