Exact gauge is not essential to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

kfb = Knit in front and back of st. ssk = slip, slip knit: Sl the next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, from the tip of the left-hand needle to the tip of the right-hand needle; insert the left-hand needle into the fronts of these 2 sts from the left and k them tog from this position to dec 1 st.

Border Pat:
RS and WS rows: K 3, yo, k2tog, k 2. (reverse on opposite side of shawl).

Shell Lace Pat (worked on 7 sts):
Row 1:
Yo, p 1, p3tog, p 1, yo, k 2 – 7 sts.
Row 2: P 7.
Row 3: K 7.
Row 4: P 7.

I am making this shawl now. I did find starting on row 100 that it doesn't work correctly. Having to adjust to the correct stitches, it still is a great shawl. Just take a closer look, you'll see. Beautiful anyway. I guess that after corrections are made, I will rate this higher.
