I'm almost done and LOVE the Americana look to this. My fiancé is active duty USMC, getting ready to retire. This will be a gift for him. I'm wondering if I should add a border? What would you guys suggest, and what color? I was thinking of adding a gold color? I'm also considering adding 7 more squares. I laid my squares out and didn't realize it's like a lap blanket size. Three more down and four more across?

I finished this Afghan and love it! This is my first project in years and it came out perfect!

I followed the gauge you gave and I had to buy 2 more skeins of yarn. It was easy to make and looked nice for Independence Day done up in red, white, and blue.

I love the pattern and its easy to crochet. However, the pattern says to chain 25; I used 26 chains to get 24 hdc or single crochet. Also, I had to purchase an additional one skein each of the Syracuse Orange, Houston Cream, and the Oakland Blank in order to complete the afghan (in SF Giants colors).
