I found the number of chains were completely off. Too long and needed to make less to accommodate the size. I agree that the frilly yarn is not good for the border. Need to use regular yarn.

Made this for a 5 YO in the 5-7 YO size needed 2 balls to make it long enough. BTY isn't this the same pattern as the one you call "jazzy hat"?

Ball began with the crinkle yarn, had to cut it off to start with smooth yarn, the crinkly yarn did not look good as a boarder. Ribbing would be better for keeping a hat on.

I bought this to make the sm adult hat. I just did this week and there is not enough yarn. Can not find it in any craft stores now. I just went on line and see you have decided it wasn't enough yarn for adult. Very disappointed!

I made this hat in the 2-5 year size. I have no idea how it could possibly fit a head any bigger than this size. It was enough yarn - barely - to make a reasonable hat for my almost-2 yr. old. But there was no way there would have been enough yarn for an adult hat, even a small.

On the plus side, the pattern was super easy, and the concept of 'one ball, one hat, fast and cute' is really great. Plus, yay for not having to make my own pompom!

Therefore, I gave it 4 stars. Add a few more feet of yarn (2 or 3 yards, give or take) and I'd give it 5 stars.
