Silky Turtleneck Cape Reviewed by Sylvia on 2014-09-23 *****
I loved this pattern! This is a GREAT pattern for beginners. I was looking to create poncho with an easy pattern and THIS IS IT!

Instead of using size 11 needles, I used size 10.5 (6.5mm) circular needles. Also, instead of using the Silky Yarn, I used Lion Brand Wool Ease Quick & Thick.

To bind off, I used a technique called “Grandma’s Favorite Bind Off” to ensure the turtleneck was “elastic” and stretchy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYMFEYvCBRE

I loved the results!

This pattern works up very quickly and is easy to do. I did have to use size 13 needles instead of 11 to get the correct gauge with my knitting tension. The Silky Twist yarn is so nice to work with (but maybe not for beginners as newbies have a bit of trouble with boucle type yarns) and is soft, nicely textured, feels great and drapes well. I used the Java color.
