I made my throw 40 x 40 instead and it took me 4 skeins of homespun thick and quick, not the two stated in the pattern. No idea why. I am very happy with my throw though. I am making two more, one for each of my two small children. I love homespun thick and quick and I don't find it difficult to work with. By the way even 40 x 40 is way too small for a regular adult.

Ifound it hard to find chains with this type of thick yarn, so I decided to work it with two colors, the second a solid color from the jiffy family. It made the chains stand out better and also made for a thicker throw. Easy to find matching colors. My family loved them so much, I made one for each of them.

I am using regular Homespun in Tudor. I wanted a bigger afghan so I chained 120 for the starting row, and followed the other reviewers advice and only chained 1 for the V-stitch. It is working up beautifully and very quickly!!! Will be sure to post a picture when I finish!

I agree with the need to delete one chain. I had to rip out and used just one chain in the V. It was easy then to find the single chain to begin next V. I just went into the SPACE between the V lines rather than trying to pick up the chain stitch itself.

It was a challenge to do the first row. Due to the boucle nature of this yarn, I couldn't see where the chain opening The second tie I did it I put a split stitch marker on every 3rd chain. I intended this as a gift for my son and DIL for their new house, but, its a bit too small for an adult throw. Instead, I'll give it to my granddaughter to use in the stroller. It will be cozy and cuddly in the cold. Next time I'll make it wider and longer.

Good pattern, but it needs one adjustment: only chain 1 in-between dc for v-stitch. Otherwise there are too many stitches and it comes out in more of a trapezoid shape. (I did this with regular red heart yarn, I suppose it could be different for this type) if you want your afghan to be rectangular, only chain 1 in between double crochets for v-stitch and don't chain at all to attach v-stitches. There should be no chain 1 between v-stitches. Other than that, love the pattern, it turns out really nicely!

Great pattern for this yarn. Easy to work and place your hook.
