Just what I've been looking for! Easy and quick!!

Candy Color Booties Reviewed by Brenda on 2013-04-09 *****
I made the high topped one without the tassel and had no problems.

It is tricky at the top to watch for the sl st and if in row 6 you end up with more than 27 stitches there are too many. I think the last sentence in that row says 27 rem. but that should be just 27 st for entire row.

It looks big when finished but it is within the guidelines for the size of booties for 0-6 month olds.

good luck.

I'm sure the instructions are wrong. I tried these booties 4 times. There are too many side rows, not enough top rows and the cuff was much to large around. Would love to have correct directions. At an "easy" only skill level, I found it extremely frustrating. Someone please fix the instructions.

I had the same problem, as the other person. My bootie came out huge

I tried this pattern and it came out huge. Would fit a 2 yr old. I am going to try it with an H hook. I believe some of the decreasing has been left out.

Candy Color Booties - Candy Color Disaster Reviewed by Erin on 2013-02-18 **
I attempted to crochet the low-top booties and found that, when using Lion Brand bonbons, a size "I" hook, and checking my gauge, the results were shapeless and barely resembled the photo with the pattern. I think the problems originate from (1) the size "I" hook and fine yarn combination leave the bootie shapeless and floppy, (2) there is no distinction between the sole and the side of the bootie (often done by crocheting into the back loops only), (3) the stitches on the top of the bootie need to be reduced because as written, the top is boxy and doesn't conform to the foot, (4) the top of the bootie as written leaves a huge opening for the foot - nothing like the photo, and (5) the pattern for the top of the foot, Row 6(RS) is ambiguous (concluding with "- 30sc", -30sc rem??).
