Cozy Cuffed Hat Reviewed by Alanna Baker on 2015-01-20 *****
I have a relatively small head, so I followed advice here and cast on 80 stitches. I wish I'd gone with 100-- the hat is very stretchy, and I feel like it would be loosely cozy with 100. I used Wildflowers and it came out gorgeous.

Made this for my mom last Christmas--it was indeed pretty big, so I decreased a bit in the cast-on like others suggested. But I thought it looked just like the picture, and the yarn is a really nice, soft yarn. The knit is pretty loose and floppy, but it was still very warm and comfy! (I stole it from her many times while she was visiting me this spring and didn't want to give it back when she left!)

"Dumb Donald" Hat? Reviewed by Dar Brown on 2013-03-07 *
Wow. What a waste of time, effort, and yarn. This hat looked cute in the photo, but the result is more like "Dumb Donald" of Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids--so flaccid and droopy that it, alas, cannot be saved. Choose the "Rustic Ribbed Hat and Scarf" or the "Rosy Ribbed Hat" pattern instead. --Darla in California

Yes, this hat is a little big. I might try washing mine to see if it shrinks a little in the dryer (carefully). And although it's big, it's really comfortable and I can definitely still wear it. It's very cute. I used a different color than picture and it's beautiful.

Cozy Cuffed Hat Reviewed by HZookeeper on 2013-01-22 ****
I followed the instructions for this hat, had to re-start a couple times. The pattern calls for 120 stitches, I ended up using 80,and it could still even be a bit snugger. I'm not a tight knitter, though. Next time I think I'll do 80 stitches on size 8 needles. Very cute hat, thought. Not as bulky as it appears in the photo.

The yarn works beautifully in this pattern, but if your knitting tension is the least bit loose (like mine), your hat will be too large for the average person. My stitch gauge was ok, too. Perhaps part of the problem was using a round needle instead of double point needles. Not willing to give up, I made the hat (I had not gone into the decrease part) into a pretty cowl scarf.

I made this hat in the same color and plan on making more. Love the yarn and style. I plan to purchase more yarn and make a matching cowl.
