Felted Tribal Bag Reviewed by Dee on 2014-12-06 ***
This was a fun bag to knit with clear instructions and a very nice yarn. For those features I would give it 5 stars.
However, carrying the colors along the side of the strap(even loosely) caused it to pull on one side when felting, so that the strap earned itself 1 star.
When it was done, I cut off the strap, made my own using one color, felted it and reattached it. Now it looks fine.
This problem would never exist if the pattern called for using only one color when working the strap.

I loved the pattern. Knitted up wonderful. The bag itself, felted beautiful. The problem I had, was the side that you carry up the yarn on the handle. became so tight, that it warped, and twisted. When trying to block the handle, the yarn broke, and is coming undone. Feel like it was a waste of yarn and time.

what a great project! It's my first felting project and I am so pleased with the outcome. And it gets so many compliments. I expect to make more. Thank you!

Easy to knit and it looks fabulous. My only issue is when you knit the strap and carry the yarn up the one side, after it felts it tends to be tighter and more warped-looking on the side the yarn was carried on. If I were make again, I think I would knit the strap as a separate piece and attach after felting. I made mine with yarn I had in brown, natural and blue and I did not double the yarn as the directions tell you to do. It felted fine. Doubling would have made a thicker fabric, but it came out thick enough for me using a single yarn. I also lined my bag with fabric.
