I agree with the previous comment, the handles are not correct in this pattern. I made the mistake of finishing and felting the bag, which came out beautiful btw, but its awkward on the shoulder.

Instead of sewing the handle to the panel on the opposite side, sew them instead to their own panel.

I'm really bummed that this pattern didn't work out, it was a lot of work and time. (The heritage yarn is SO skinny. I totally recommend doubling it and then reducing the stitch count.)

I can't believe no one has commented on this. Look at this picture. There is something very wrong with the design of this bag. Handles of totes don't go front to back. Just try to carry this tote as pictured over your shoulder. You can't. I very carefully followed all these directions to knit this bag for a special birthday for a friend. I ended up cutting the felted handles and attached the front to front and back to back with buttons. Be Warned!!

The only complaint I have about this pattern are the sewing instructions, I know that it's felted so the seams will blend but I would have liked more specific instructions i.e. sew together on knit side etc...also the felting instructions are iffy IMO, I always felt in a washing machine and put what I felt into a mesh lingerie bag, I don't recommend just letting it loose in the washer with other clothes. Ok so that was 2 complaints otherwise it was the washer right now!

This actually is a 3.5 or so, maybe even a 3.8. But there's method to my mad scoring. Let me explain.
First, the pattern. I *love* felting, especially when the felting turns out very sophisticated. The cable pattern is phenomenal. It is just an aesthetically sumptuous bag overall.
Two, the size. I hate small bags. Thankfully, this is not a small bag. Yet another reason why I lusteth after this.
Three, the cost. Ah, the cost. My number one complaint. This pattern requests 5 balls of yarn. I checked online
