I followed the instructions precisely, using the MS loom and MS yarn. Two skeins was just barely enough to finish the project and the fit is closer to that of a cervical collar vs. a cowl. Also, the pegs in the loom started popping out with use. I used the Lion Brand Youtube video as a resource and can now understand why they chose to NOT use the recommended MS Lofty Wool Blend yarn. I will try it again but with a different (and cheaper!) yarn.

I'm giving this three stars because the pattern and instructions were easy to follow. However, even though I followed the instructions exactly, the end product was not even close to what I'd expected, based on the photo. When straightened out, the item looks does have the pattern shown - however, the problem is that, in spite of using the correct loom and spacing, the cowl rolls terribly - to the point that the stitches cannot be viewed. It is usable, however, and will be very warm this winter.

I found the instructions very easy to follow; including setting up the loom. I didn't like working with the Martha Stewart bulky yarn; found it to be too stiff to handle. I've made another cowl using a different brand of bulky yarn and it was a lot easier to work with.

I have never knitted anything before in my life. In fact, since I am left-handed, no one would teach me how to knit. I bought the Weave and Knit Loom and made this. You cannot have 34 pegs. It won't work. You'll want to use 32 pegs and place them as peg, hole, hole, hole, peg. Make sure you use 6-weight yarn. I couldn't use the MS yarn/wool becuase I'm vegan, but I made sure to use 6-weight. This took me under two hours to make!

I had to use 32 working pegs as no matter what configuration i could only make 32 fit, if i had 3 holes between pegs it was 32. If it was 2 spaces between it was 42 working pegs.... soooo yeah. But took me maybe 2 hours to finish. Definatley need to use a bulky yard. I used LionBrand Wool Ease in Claret and it wasn't as thick as the one in the picture. But I can't fathom paying double for Martha's yarn that is only 28 yards when lion brand is 120 yards....
