I made this with two skeins of Homespun (held together) and casted on 63 stiches. I knitted the repeats about 3 times though since it was a thick yarn, and it came out really pretty. I am going to add a button and loop so that it can be gathered and buttoned when it is chilly, and yet worn more loosely if not too cold. It was my first cable project and I am very happy with it.

The yarn recommended for this pattern is AWFUL. It pulled apart like felt. Couldn't even get the stitches cast on without it pulling apart and shredding, had to go purchase different yarn. The pattern is also incorrect, but figured that part out. Don't waste your time with this year, buy something of quality.

This pattern was fast & easy to knit. It's also a great project to take along with you when your'e on the go. I used the "Rhubarb" color to mimic a candy cane/peppermint twist effect for Christmas gift giving. I plan on knitting more of this pattern. Knits up much better than pictured.

Super easy. Super cool and not girly. More cool guy patterns please.
