Try in Hometown USA Reviewed by Dar Brown on 2015-07-27 *****
I knit this for a friend and used 1 skein of Hometown USA, as we live in a warmer climate. I used size 15 needles and CO 52 st. The cowl came out 25" in circumference, and I made it 7" tall. Not quite as dramatic as original pattern, but lovely and soft! --Darla in California

So easy to make. Chic, cozy, and warm. I made one for myself and my daughter and we wear them all the time in winter.

I agree with the other reviewer about the price of the yarn. That said, it's lovely yarn, so squishy to knit with, and I've done the cowl twice now. It knits up almost too quickly, it's such a pleasure to knit with!

Great pattern, was my first cowl ever, and it turned out great. Only problem was that 44 stitches was too small on my circulars, so I cast on about 55.

Only other complaint is the price of the yarn. $12.99 for just a handful of yarn? Come on now.

All in all, great cowl, but find a cheaper yarn.

Easy and cute Reviewed by Jennifer McIlyar on 2012-01-04 *****
I knitted this cowl today in about two hours -- and more experienced knitters could probably do it in less. I used three strands of worsted-weight wool (category 4) held together with a size 17 needle instead of the Martha Stewart super bulky.

When knitting it again for my daughter I will cast on slightly fewer stitches.
